The Role:
An excellent secondary school in Chesterfield is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of English and Drama to join their team on a long-term temporary basis.
The role is to start as soon as possible, and will involve teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and creative lessons that inspire students and raise attainment.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive, forward-thinking English and Performing Arts department, where your skills and passion can make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in English and Drama Teach and assess students in line with national curriculum standards
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support development
Contribute to departmental planning and extracurricular activities, including school productions and performances
Uphold school policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and student well-being
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching English and/or Drama at KS3 and KS4
Strong classroom management and communication skills
A genuine passion for literature, performance, and inspiring young people
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
Flexibility, reliability, and a commitment to long-term teaching
