Working across Key Stages 3 and 4, you will support students in developing their literacy, reading comprehension, written communication, and confidence in English.
About the Role
As a Graduate English Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the English Department and SEN team to support students both in and out of the classroom. You will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, engage with the curriculum, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small-group intervention support in English
Support students with reading, writing, and literacy development across KS3 and KS4
Assist teachers during English lessons and help deliver engaging learning activities
Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs within the classroom
Help monitor student progress and contribute to feedback and assessment activities
Encourage student engagement, confidence, and positive attitudes towards learning
Assist with literacy initiatives, reading programmes, and extracurricular activities where appropriate
What We're Looking For
A degree in English, English Literature, Creative Writing, or a related subject
Experience working with young people or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
A genuine passion for English and education
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach
The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
