Salary: £100-£170 per day (Depending on Experience)

Do you want to teach engaging English lessons in a secondary school setting-even if you don't yet hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)?
We're working with several forward-thinking secondary schools across Northampton who are seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable English Instructors to join their departments from September 2025. These full-time roles are ideal for individuals with strong subject knowledge and prior classroom experience who are eager to take on a lead role in delivering English lessons.
Whether you're an experienced unqualified teacher or a graduate exploring a future in education, this opportunity offers invaluable classroom experience and the chance to make a real difference.
The Role:
Teach English Language and Literature to students in Key Stages 3 and 4
Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons using school-provided schemes of work
Adapt lesson content and delivery to support different learning needs and styles
Support students in developing key skills in reading, writing, grammar, and critical thinking
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies to ensure a respectful, focused learning environment
Contribute to student progress tracking, marking, and providing feedback
Collaborate with department staff and school leaders to maintain high academic standards
We're Looking For Someone With:
A degree in English, English Literature, Creative Writing, or a related discipline
Prior experience delivering lessons, tutoring, or working in a secondary school environment (desirable)
A confident and adaptable classroom presence
Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people
A willingness to develop professionally and pursue potential teacher training routes
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
