Are you a passionate and dedicated English educator looking to inspire the next generation? A college is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivational English Lecturer to join our supportive and dynamic team.
In this rewarding role, you will primarily deliver GCSE and Functional Skills (FS) English to a diverse group of learners. While the current focus is on adult education, the role may expand to include teaching 16-18-year-olds in future academic years.
As part of the English department, you will work closely with the Programme Manager and colleagues to foster a collaborative and innovative learning environment. We are looking for someone who is committed to student-led learning and who can actively contribute to continuous improvement across the department.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective lessons in GCSE and FS English
Act as a personal tutor, monitoring progress and supporting students' development
Track and promote student attendance and engagement
Contribute to curriculum planning, development, and quality improvement
Participate in regular team meetings and College-wide initiativesEssential Requirements:
A full teaching qualification
Proven ability to teach both Functional Skills and GCSE English
Minimum of A Level in English Language (a degree in English is highly desirable)
Recent experience teaching GCSE and FS, ideally within a Further Education (FE) setting
Experience working with both adult learners and 16-18-year-oldsImportant Notice
