Job Description

English Teacher & Humanities Teacher - SEMH School, Chester Start Date: ASAP Contract: 4 Days per Week (Until Christmas) We are seeking a passionate English Teacher and Humanities Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Chester. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic English Teacher and Humanities Teacher to make a real difference to the lives of young people who require additional support. As an English Teacher and Humanities Teacher, you will work with pupils who have a range of complex needs, typically associated with autism spectrum disorder ASD and social, emotional, or behaviour that challenges. You'll play a key role in helping students re-engage with learning through creative, structured, and supportive teaching. Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging English and Humanities lessons tailored to individual learning needs. Support pupils in developing confidence, literacy, and emotional regulation skills. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure a holistic approach. Foster a nurturing classroom environment that promotes progress and positive behaviour.Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience as an English Teacher or Humanities Teacher, ideally within an SEMH or SEN setting. Strong classroom management skills and a compassionate approach. Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse learning styles and emotional needs.This position is ideal for a reflective and resilient English Teacher or Humanities Teacher who is motivated by helping students overcome barriers to learning.
