We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic school in the Kendal area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire and engage students across all levels. The position is offered as a full-time, fixed-term contract for one year, starting January 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4, adapting resources to meet the needs of all learners
*
Plan and prepare engaging lessons that inspire a love of English and literature
*
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback
*
Support the school’s curriculum development and extracurricular initiatives
*
Maintain high standards of behaviour and foster a positive learning environment
*
Collaborate with colleagues and participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
Essential Requirements:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*
Strong subject knowledge in English and literature
*
Proven experience teaching secondary students (preferred)
*
Excellent classroom management skills
*
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Desirable:
*
Experience in exam preparation (GCSE/A-level)
*
Experience in supporting SEND or EAL students
*
Passion for extra-curricular activities such as drama, creative writing, or literacy programs
