Your Role and Responsibilities As an English Teacher, you will: Deliver dynamic and engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, tailored to a range of abilities Inspire students to develop a love for language, literature, and creative expression Take full responsibility for planning, preparation, and assessment, ensuring lessons meet curriculum standards Contribute to the development of schemes of work and share best practice within a collaborative English department Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and high expectations Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a focused learning atmosphere Support students’ academic progress and personal growth, including preparation for GCSE examinations What We’re Looking For Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Experience teaching English within a UK school setting Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English literature and language Excellent classroom management and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to the wider school community Commitment to ongoing professional development ECTs are warmly encouraged to apply – full induction and mentoring support will be provided.
