About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and passionate Secondary English Teacher to join a secondary school in the Liverpool area. As one of the fastest growing agencies in the UK, we are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic educator to inspire and nurture students.

Secondary English Teacher

Location: Liverpool, L13 

Start Date: April 2026

Contract Type: Temporary, long term

Working Hours: Full-time, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Pay: Paid to scale

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and delivering lessons: Creating engaging lesson plans that cover reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Assessing student progress: Evaluating homework, exams, and classroom participation to track improvement.
Building relationships: Establishing trust with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a positive learning environment.
Encouraging communication skills: Helping students develop confidence in expressing themselves through discussions, presentations, and writing exercises.
Providing feedback: Offering constructive criticism to help students refine their language skills.
Adapting teaching methods: Using different strategies to accommodate various learning styles and needs.Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
Right to Work in the UK.
Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
