Luma Education Recruitment is seeking an experienced Secondary English Teacher to join a supportive independent school. You’ll lead lessons, manage behaviour, and support pupils of all abilities, helping them thrive in a positive, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Plan and deliver engaging, English lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils

  * Maintain a calm, structured, inclusive classroom that promotes learning and positive behaviour

  * Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development across the school day

  * Adapt quickly to new settings following school routines and individual support plans

  * Assess progress and provide feedback, collaborating with colleagues to support learning

Requirements:

  * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  * Experience teaching in UK schools

  * Strong classroom management and communication skills

  * Flexible, adaptable, and confident working across year groups/subjects

  * Enhanced DBS (on Update Service) required prior to starting
