English Teacher opportunity in an outstanding secondary school in Amersham, teaching English Language and Literature across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
English Teacher required for an established and successful secondary English department within an outstanding school. The position offers the opportunity to teach across KS3, GCSE and sixth form, making it particularly suitable for an experienced English specialist with strong subject knowledge.
The school is an outstanding secondary setting with an established sixth form and a strong academic culture. Its English provision covers both Language and Literature, with students studying a broad range of literary texts, analytical writing and critical discussion through KS3-5.
What you will teach...
English Language and English Literature.
KS3 curriculum.
GCSE English Language and Literature.
KS5 English Literature.
Reading, analytical writing, creative writing and examination preparation.
Lessons designed to develop confident communication and independent thinking.The department provides opportunities for students to engage deeply with texts, form complex arguments and develop wider knowledge through reading and discussion.
We are looking for someone who has:
Proven experience teaching English across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
Strong knowledge of English Language and Literature.
Experience preparing students for GCSE and/or A Level examinations.
Excellent classroom management.
Strong written and verbal communication.
High expectations of student achievement.
A degree or relevant qualification in English is desirable.
QTS is preferred, but experienced Unqualified Teachers are encouraged to apply.This could suit an experienced teacher seeking a new challenge or an established Unqualified Teacher with a strong record of classroom teaching.
