English Teacher | Secondary School in Hemel Hempstead | September Start Paid to Scale Supply Desk is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Hemel Hempstead. This full-time position is available from September and offers an excellent opportunity to inspire and engage students in the study of English Language and Literature. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about teaching English and committed to fostering a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking in young learners. Job Description: Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, following the National Curriculum. Differentiate teaching to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with SEND and EAL. Develop engaging schemes of work that motivate students and promote independent learning. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development. Maintain excellent classroom management, encouraging positive behaviour and a productive learning atmosphere. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and contribute to departmental development. Engage with parents and carers to support student progress and wellbeing. Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development activities. Our Ideal Candidate Will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Have experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3 & KS4). Be passionate about English and able to inspire students with creative and effective teaching methods. Have strong classroom management skills and a student-centred approach. Be confident in using assessment data to inform teaching and improve outcomes. Possess excellent communication and organisational skills. Be proactive, flexible, and collaborative, with a commitment to professional growth.
