English Teacher – Full-Time, Long-Term
Location: St Albans
Salary: £33,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2025

The school is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their team full-time from September 2025. This long-term opportunity is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are enthusiastic about fostering a love of reading, writing, and communication in young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach English Language and Literature to Key Stage 3 and 4 students
Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire creativity and critical thinking
Help students build strong literacy, analysis, and communication skills
Provide clear, constructive feedback to support progress and achievement
Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and department resources
Support and encourage participation in enrichment activities, such as writing clubs and competitions
Be a proactive member of the school community and contribute to its positive culture
What We’re Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (preferred)
Experience teaching English at secondary level
Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and a passion for the subject
A creative, student-focused approach to teaching
Confident classroom management and excellent communication skills
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
