Richmond upon Thames, Twickenham – Full-time, Maternity Leave Cover
Start: September 2025
Salary: MPS / UPS (depending on experience)
Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover (one academic year)

The role:
You will be joining a passionate English department, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the potential to support A-level groups. Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering dynamic, stimulating lessons that inspire students.
Tracking progress, offering high-quality feedback, and setting clear targets.
Contributing to department initiatives—like enrichment programmes, school events, and literary competitions.
Collaborating with colleagues to develop engaging schemes of work and share best practices.
Supporting students’ wider development through participation in school life, including trips, assemblies, and parent events.
What we’re looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a passionate advocate for English literature and language.
Proven expertise teaching across secondary age ranges, ideally including GCSE.
Strong classroom presence with excellent behaviour management and clear communication skills.
A collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for contributing to a busy school community.
The ability to adapt teaching to meet varied needs, including SEN and EAL support.
