A highly respected secondary school in Barnet is seeking an English Teacher who can bring energy, creativity, and rigour to their department. The school is recognised for fostering academic ambition, creativity, and emotional intelligence—making it a place where staff and students grow together.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Designing and delivering engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5.
Nurturing literacy and analytical thinking through a diverse curriculum, including poetry, drama, fiction, and non-fiction.
Creating a classroom culture where all students feel encouraged to express themselves confidently and respectfully.
Assessing student work thoughtfully and constructively to support academic progress.
Participating in enrichment activities such as book clubs, debating, or creative writing initiatives.
Who We’re Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or related subject.
A strong grasp of the national curriculum and current teaching methodologies.
A passion for inspiring young people through the English language and literature.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
A collaborative spirit and commitment to professional growth.
An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
