We are seeking a passionate and committed English teacher to join our thriving, oversubscribed 11–18 secondary school in Macclesfield, from September until the end of the autumn term. Our high-performing school has a strong academic record, a vibrant performing arts culture, and a well-established Sixth Form, with motivated and respectful students who value learning.
You will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that inspire a love of English Language and Literature.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach English to GCSE level, adapting lessons to meet the needs of all learners
Contribute to curriculum planning and resource sharing within the department
Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback to students
Work closely with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
What we're looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or extensive, proven classroom experience teaching English
Strong track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
Deep subject knowledge and a passion for English Language and Literature
Confident, adaptable classroom management skills
Ability to inspire and engage learners of all abilities through dynamic teaching
Professional, resilient, and committed to maintaining high standards
