Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary school in Rugby, who are seeking a skilled English Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated educator-whether you're an experienced teacher or an ECT-to make a real difference in a school that values creativity, high standards, and student success.
The Role:
As an English Teacher, you'll deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You'll play a vital role in helping students develop strong literacy skills, a love of reading, and the confidence to express themselves-both academically and creatively.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
Plan, deliver and assess high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners
Use data and assessment to support progress and provide timely feedback
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and ambition
Collaborate with the English department on planning, moderation and enrichment activities
Contribute to whole-school literacy and learning initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification (ECTs encouraged to apply)
Have recent experience teaching English in a secondary school setting
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and creative lesson planning
Be confident in behaviour management and building positive relationships with students
Have a passion for English and a commitment to improving student outcomes
Hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
