Are you a passionate and adaptable English Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?
We're seeking a dedicated English Teacher to join an Alternative Provision in Sandwell, working with SEN students in Years 9-11. This is a full-time position with an immediate start.
You'll be teaching a mixed cohort of GCSE English and Functional Skills English learners, supporting students who may have faced barriers to mainstream education. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, patience, and a strong commitment to helping each student achieve their potential.
The Role:
Deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to small groups of SEN learners
Teach across GCSE and Functional Skills levels
Plan and assess lessons in line with students' individual needs and EHCP targets
Work collaboratively with a supportive team to create a positive, inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
Experience teaching English at KS4 level
A strong understanding of SEN and strategies to support students with additional needs
Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills
