Are you a patient, compassionate, and skilled tutor with experience supporting students with SEND?
TeacherActive are seeking a dedicated 1:1 English Tutor to work with a student in a mainstream school who is currently awaiting placement at a specialist setting. This is a short-term English Tutor role, offering a few sessions per week, with a focus on either GCSE English or Functional Skills.
About the English Tutor Role:
Location: Mainstream school in Kent
Schedule: Flexible – a few sessions per week during school hours
Subject Focus: GCSE English or Functional Skills (tailored to the student’s needs)
Support Needs: The student has SEND and benefits from a calm, structured, and consistent 1:1 approach
Ideal Candidate for this English Tutor role:
Experience working with SEND students, particularly those in transition
A strong background in English teaching or tutoring (GCSE or Functional Skills)
Able to build rapport quickly and adapt learning methods to individual needs
Patient, empathetic, and professional
