Job Description
Enhanced Technician – Energy from Waste Facility
Location: Maidstone
Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 (DOE)
Role Type: Perm, Full Time
Sector: Energy From Waste
Shift Pattern: 7am–7pm/7pm–7am
Key Responsibilities
*
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
*
Operating plant equipment safely and efficiently
*
Monitoring and maintaining compliance with environmental permits
*
Carrying out risk assessments and operational procedures
*
Supporting operational improvements and performance enhancements
*
Administering safe systems of work and coordinating contractor activities
*
Participating in health and safety inspections and workplace investigations
*
Managing consumable materials and operational strategies
*
Performing first aid and acting as a Fire Marshal in emergency situations
*
Supportive role for operational improvements to increase performance, while liaising with the Shift Operations, Maintenance and Cleaning.
Experience & Qualifications
*
Proven supervisory experience in Energy from Waste, power generation, or large industrial process plant.
*
Operate the plant in a safe environmentally compliant and efficient manner on shift rotation basis.
*
Technical background in either plant operations or maintenance.
*
Experience with waste handling, boiler furnace, steam systems, fans, pumps, steam turbine generator, ash handling, water treatment processes and conveyors.
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience with rotating machinery, boilers, or similar systems.
*
DCS knowledge is essential.
Desirable Skills
*
High-level planning, organisation, and decision-making skills.
*
NEBOSH General Certificate (completed or working towards).
*
IOSH Managing Safely (completed).
*
HNC or equivalent in a technical or scientific disciplineBefore You Apply
