Enterprise Architect
The Associates Global is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with a strong focus on Applications to join a well-established organisation undergoing large-scale digital transformation. The company has very low staff turnover and the relatively newly stood up Architecture practise has excellent sponsorship from the top down. This is a new and strategically important role, offering the opportunity to lead the development of the organisation’s application architecture, roadmaps, and standards.
This Hybrid role (2 days in) in London will require you to be an excellent communicator with natural gravitas. Your stakeholders will cut across the organisation (including SLT) as well as external providers. You will use your experience to help shape a business that is exciting and uplifting in what they do.
As the Enterprise Architect for Applications, you’ll be responsible for designing the future state of the application estate, guiding the organisation as it transitions from legacy systems to modern, service-oriented architectures.
You will provide architectural guardrails for solution delivery teams, mentor architects and technical leads, and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business strategy and application design. Although this is a true EA role there may be times where you will undertake some SA tasks given that the company is not a vast business.
Your Key Responsibilities include;
* Defining and leading the Enterprise Application Strategy, architecture, and roadmaps
* Develop and maintain conceptual and logical application landscapes aligned with business and technical requirements
* Create and maintain architecture principles, standards, and governance practices
* Support the secure, scalable delivery of cloud and on-prem applications (Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce, MuleSoft)
* Guide and mentor solution and technical architects to ensure high standards of application design
* Collaborate with teams across digital, data, CRM, finance, and HR systems
* Participate in architecture governance groups and project boards
* Promote continuous improvement of application platforms and tooling
* Monitor technology trends and recommend relevant innovations
* Support the development of business cases for future application investments
Your Skills and Experience should include
* Strong experience as an Enterprise Architect with a focus on applications
* Track record of delivering application strategy in large-scale transformation programmes
* Experience migrating from legacy to modern, service-based architectures (e.g. microservices)
* Knowledge of architecture modelling tools and frameworks (e.g. UML, ArchiMate, Bizz design)
* Familiarity with data structure concepts and relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
* Broad understanding of enterprise systems (CRM, Finance, HR, integration platforms)
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Experience with architecture assurance, governance, and version-controlled repositories
* Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to delivery and mentoring
If you are an Enterprise Architect looking to work on major transformation in a business that is collaborative by nature and where you are truly valued as an individual, then this is definitely a role worth considering.
Having worked with this business for a number of years and placing people across the organisation it is very evident that their culture is brilliant. Their work environment is demanding insofar as taking on technical challenges and requiring people to deliver collaboratively and they celebrate their wins as a team rather than a promotion race
