K.A.G. Recruitment are partnering exclusively with our client who is looking to recruit an Environmental Coordinator to join their existing team based in Kingswinford.
Role: Environmental Coordinator
Salary: Up to 35,000 - DOE
Location: Kingswinford
Hours: Monday to Friday – 8.00 – 17.00 (flexibility to work on weekends and outside regular hours is required based on business demands)
Purpose of the role:
You will be responsible for overseeing the environmental & sustainability performance of the site and ensuring the treatment plant is operating within its permitted approved limits.
Duties:
* Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy
* Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices including driving efficiencies in utilities, whilst working in collaboration with on-site departments
* Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and keep up to date with British & adopted European Legislation
* Liaise with relevant bodies such as the EA, local authority, and other public bodies
* Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to management and regulatory bodies
* Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of the organisation, of the impact of emerging environmental issues
* Implement best practice in areas of corporate, ethical, and social responsibility and address any issues arising
* Develop and implement environmental management systems to continually improve the impact of the organisation on the environment.
* Train staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities including the training of WWTP Operator to a high standard and create a training programme
* Participate in environmental education and research
* Effective management of wastewater treatment plant both in and out of hours, through managing of the WWTP Operator
* Maintain ISO 1400 standard active and updated at site level
You will have experience of working within a similar role within a Manufacturing environment and be able to demonstrate initiative, self-drive and a positive attitude. You will possess excellent attention to detail and be a strong communicator both verbally and written with excellent IT skills.
You will have prior knowledge of working with ISO 14001 system or other compliance systems such as ISO 45001 or 50001 are preferred but this is not essential
