Are you a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Advisor looking for an immediate and impactful freelance opportunity?
We are a leading Tier 1 contractor seeking a dedicated professional to join our team on a significant energy scheme located in beautiful North Wales. This is an initial 3-month contract, with potential for extension, offering a fantastic opportunity to contribute your expertise to a high-profile project.
**The Role:**
As our freelance Environmental Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring environmental compliance and best practice across all aspects of the energy scheme. You will be responsible for:
Providing expert environmental advice and guidance to project teams, sub-contractors, and stakeholders.
Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of our Environmental Management System, aligned with **ISO 14001** standards.
Conducting site inspections and audits to identify potential environmental risks and non-conformances.
Developing and delivering environmental training and toolbox talks.
Investigating environmental incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions, and reporting findings.
Liaising with regulatory bodies and ensuring all necessary permits and licenses are in place and adhered to.
Preparing environmental reports and documentation as required.
Championing environmental awareness and promoting a positive environmental culture on site.**About You:**
We are looking for a proactive and resourceful individual with:
A proven track record as an Environmental Advisor, ideally within large-scale energy or infrastructure projects.
A strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and best practice.
Demonstrable experience in implementing and maintaining **ISO 14001** certified management systems.
Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (**IEMA**), preferably at Practitioner or Associate level.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced project environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to environmental challenges.
Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to the North Wales site.**Desirable:**
Experience working with Tier 1 contractors.
Experience in the renewable energy sector.**What We Offer:**
