We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Advisor to join the existing team in Scotland.
This is a key role supporting the delivery of sustainable, compliant, and responsible construction across a range of major infrastructure projects, with a focus on the UK rail sector.
You will be responsible for driving environmental standards across the operations, ensuring compliance with company, client, and legal requirements, and contributing to the long-term sustainability goals.
Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

Deliver and maintain compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS), including day-to-day environmental standards and processes.

Conduct site audits, inspections, and investigations, ensuring issues are resolved and lessons are shared across teams.
*
Support the development and implementation of project-specific environmental documentation.
*
Liaise with regulatory bodies to obtain consents and ensure any conditions are integrated into project delivery.
*
Analyse and report environmental performance data at project and business level, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
*
Contribute to the development of environmental strategy and support key initiatives such as carbon reduction, waste minimisation, and nuisance mitigation.
*
Deliver environmental training and awareness sessions across the organisation and support graduate/trainee development.
*
Promote and facilitate social value initiatives including school engagement and volunteering events.
*
Represent the business in internal and external environmental working groups, forums, and client meetings.
The successful candidate will have;
*
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an environmental role within construction or infrastructure.
*
Working knowledge of UK environmental legislation and regulatory guidance.
*
Detailed understanding of Network Rail environmental standards and contract requirements.
*
Awareness of HS2 and/or TfL environmental frameworks.
*
Experience in supporting or managing junior environmental professionals.
Qualifications
*
Degree in environmental science or a related discipline.
*
IEMA/ISEP Practitioner membership.
*
14001 Internal Auditor
*
Full UK Driving Licence.
