Job Description
Our client, a prominent organisation within the rail sector, is currently seeking an Environmental Advisor to join their team based in Manchester. This is a long-term contract opportunity, inside IR35, requiring expertise in environmental management and a robust understanding of HSQE principles for a substantial rail infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise to guide and improve environmental performance
Ensure compliance with relevant standards and client expectations
Implement and maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS)
Collaborate closely with construction teams to ensure adherence to environmental practices
Conduct environmental risk assessments and audits
Deliver training and awareness programmes on environmental issues
Monitor and report on environmental performance
Engage with stakeholders to promote sustainability initiatives
Job Requirements:
Experience in environmental management within rail or construction projects
Strong understanding of HSQE principles
Knowledge of ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems
Experience in implementing and maintaining environmental practices
Relevant environmental qualifications (e.g., ISO14001 Auditor)
PTS/Sentinel qualification is desirable
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities
