An exciting opportunity to join the Planning and Environment Developer within a leading Civil, Environmental & Renewables department delivering large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects across Ireland and internationally. This role plays a key part in supporting the organisation’s Net Zero Strategy, focused on decarbonising energy systems, delivering resilient infrastructure, and supporting a sustainable future.
You will contribute to the development of onshore renewable and infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet all environmental and planning requirements from early-stage feasibility through to construction.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of environmental consenting, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), sub-threshold environmental reporting, and licensing across various onshore infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Commissioning, preparing, managing, and reviewing environmental reports for consent applications (e.g. CEMP, feasibility studies, environmental constraints reports).
Leading the project management of environmental workstreams across a diverse portfolio.
Developing and contributing to consenting strategies, identifying risks and opportunities.
Preparing tenders, evaluating bids, and managing external environmental consultants.
Coordinating and reviewing technical environmental studies and surveys.
Supporting stakeholder engagement with both internal teams and external regulatory bodies.
Collaborating across multiple disciplines to deliver projects to schedule and quality standards.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of environmental legislation, policies, and best practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Level 8 Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in environmental consenting and/or EIA project delivery.
Strong knowledge of Irish environmental regulatory frameworks and planning systems.
Proven experience in drafting or co-authoring Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) or similar.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging planning authorities and statutory consultees.
Highly organised with strong commercial and project management awareness.
Full, clean driving licence and access to own transport.
Desirable Qualifications & Skills:
Level 9 Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
Chartered status (or working towards chartership) with a recognised professional institution.
Project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
Experience in renewable energy, energy storage, or major infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with EU and Irish public procurement processes.
Knowledge of UK consenting processes or environmental regulation.
Experience with marine or industrial emission licensing and related surveys.
Expertise in a specialist area such as noise, air quality, or surface water quality.
