A local authority in Sussex is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Protection Officer to support their team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong expertise in pollution control to contribute across the district.

Role Overview & Requirements
* Hands-on experience in environmental health, preferably within a council environment
* Investigate public complaints involving noise, smoke, odours, light pollution, and other statutory nuisances
* Carry out inspections of homes, businesses, and industrial sites to identify environmental issues
* Apply and enforce relevant legislation, including the Environmental Protection Act 1990
* Collaborate with planning and licensing departments to assess applications and provide environmental health guidance
* When necessary, issue legal notices, compile case documentation, and initiate enforcement actions, including prosecutionsBefore You Apply
