Epilepsy-Trained SEN Tutor Are you an experienced and passionate SEN tutor with specialized training in epilepsy care? Do you have the skills and dedication to support a student with high special educational needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), in achieving their full potential? If so, we want to hear from you! About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and skilled tutor to work one-on-one with a student in Newham with complex SEN, including epilepsy and ASD. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to meet the student's educational, social, and emotional needs in a safe and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver personalised learning plans tailored to the student's individual needs. Manage and respond effectively to the student's epilepsy-related health requirements, ensuring their safety and well-being. Implement strategies to support ASD, including sensory sensitivities, communication challenges, and routine-based learning. Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Work closely with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to the student's development. Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed. Essential Requirements Previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly epilepsy and ASD. Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or a related field. Epilepsy training and confidence in managing seizures and emergency protocols. Strong understanding of ASD and associated learning strategies. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of the student. Desirable Skills Experience working within the Newham area or a similar community. Knowledge of additional SEN needs and comorbid conditions. Training in de-escalation and positive behaviour management techniques. Why Join Us?
