Job Description

Job Title: ER Specialist Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Working Structure: 4 days office / 1 day home Location: Watford Employee Relations Specialist – Key Responsibilities Provide timely and efficient ER advisory support, ensuring a high standard of customer service and accurate employment advice. Advise managers on policies, HR best practices, and employment legislation while managing a varied caseload (around 30 cases, including some more complex matters). Partner with managers to coach and guide them on risk assessment, offering practical solutions to support effective decision-making. Act as a point of contact for employee queries and workplace concerns, ensuring these are resolved professionally. Support senior leaders with case documentation and prepare reports for tribunal-related matters where required. Deliver workshops and training sessions to help managers strengthen their understanding of ER processes, best practices, and performance management. Keep up to date with employment law and HR policies, contributing to policy reviews and updates as needed. Use HR systems and Microsoft Office to record, track, and update case management data. Ensure HR documentation and correspondence are accurate, timely, and aligned with business needs. Ideal Candidate Profile: Experience as an ER or HR Advisor, with solid exposure to a broad range of employee relations matters. Proven knowledge and confidence in handling ER issues across the full employee lifecycle. CIPD Level 3–5 (or working towards) is highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive, and supportive advice. Strong understanding of employment legislation and its practical application in a commercial setting. Highly organised, able to manage a busy caseload and meet deadlines.
