An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ergonomist to join an established Manufacturing Engineering team in Broughton. This role will provide the opportunity to influence and drive change across a large-scale manufacturing environment, working closely with Operations, Design Engineering, Health & Safety and other key stakeholders.
The Ergonomics team focuses on optimising human working conditions, reducing ergonomic risk and improving overall manufacturing efficiency, across both existing and new processes, tooling and equipment.

Pay: £33.44 per hour via Umbrella
Contract: 35 hours per week, 12 months contract

Responsibilities:
Conduct ergonomic assessments and work analysis of assembly and installation activities, identifying risks and recommending practical mitigation measures.
Develop and implement strategic ergonomic action plans aligned with manufacturing and business objectives.
Influence new product, process and tooling development through Design for Manufacture and User-Centred Design principles.
Develop technical, organisational and training solutions to reduce ergonomic risks and hazards.
Support Human Factors and ergonomics improvement projects with stakeholders across Quality, H&S, Design, Production and Manufacturing Engineering.
Contribute to specifications, tenders and the management of outsourced ergonomics work packages.
Work with tooling, jig and machinery suppliers to ensure ergonomic requirements are considered.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and standards, while monitoring developments in ergonomics and Human Factors.
Support local Health & Safety teams and contribute to wider ergonomic initiatives where required.Requirements:
Essential
Degree-level qualification (or higher) in Ergonomics/Human Factors from an accredited CIEHF institution.
Registered Member, or working towards registration, with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors (CIEHF) or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of work physiology, biomechanics, cognitive science, applied psychology and Human Factors.
Experience identifying workplace ergonomic risks and developing effective mitigation strategies.
Experience assessing working methods, applying relevant standards and risk assessment tools, and producing technical reports and solutions.
Understanding of ergonomic risk anticipation within new designs, processes and manufacturing environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical stakeholders and advocate for end-user requirements.
Analytical, creative and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work autonomously and manage projects effectively.Desirable
Previous experience working within an industrial or manufacturing engineering environment.
