Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Hampshire is currently recruiting for an Estates Maintenance Manager to join their Housing Operations team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing maintenance environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to manage the delivery of a high-quality housing maintenance service (including responsive repairs, voids and planned works) across the council’s housing stock, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, service level agreements and financial controls. The role also includes managing significant budgets and leading the Area Maintenance Teams. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Oversee a large-scale maintenance programme across 18,000 properties with an annual budget of £7.7m. Manage a geographically dispersed maintenance team, including apprentices and contractors. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies, CDM Regulations and internal council procedures. Lead project delivery for major repairs, void refurbishments, and planned maintenance works. Monitor and report on budgets, costs, job costing, and resource deployment. Engage and liaise with internal stakeholders, tenants, and external contractors to ensure a high standard of service delivery. Contribute to continuous improvement and commercial development within the service. The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require: HNC / HND or significant relevant experience in housing maintenance. A professional qualification such as CIOH, RICS, or CIOB (or working towards). Working knowledge of CDM Regulations and IOSH Level 3 or equivalent.The below skills would be beneficial for the role: Senior leadership experience managing housing repairs and maintenance teams. Excellent financial, budgetary, and project management skills. Up-to-date knowledge of social housing legislation, H&S regulations, and compliance frameworks.The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £40 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £32 per hour PAYE).
