Estimating Engineer BCW Design & Manufacture

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the Sales & Estimating team by producing accurate and timely cost estimates for customer quotations and tenders.
This position requires a strong technical understanding of tooling processes and materials, along with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. The role contributes to both the strategic pricing and day-to-day quotation activities essential to the company’s growth and profitability.
Specific Responsibilities
* Review and understand the customer’s technical requirements for RFQ and any other commercial/project requirements.
* Maintain and update CRM system with new RFQ information (Hubspot)
* Obtain external costings for materials, sub-con and bought out items required for proposal/bids.
* Use software for preparation of estimates (ERP & MS Excel)
* Administrate and contribute to the bid review process from Bid/No-bid to bid sign-off, presenting the data and information on the estimated costings.
* Co-ordinate handover of won orders with Project Management team
* Build relationships with key stakeholders (Sales, Project Management, Operations etc.)
Relationship Management
* Work as part of the Design & Manufacture team to share ideas and improve operational performance, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities.
* Develop and maintain professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate timely delivery and compliance with respect to bids and customer proposals, supporting the group and company sales strategy.
* Contribute to new business initiatives and projects.
Self-Management
* Comply with all Health, Safety, Well-being and Environmental regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.
* Be aware of and reinforce the group and company, Vision, Mission, and Values to ensure, leading by example.
* Proactively contribute to creating a good team atmosphere (One team)
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience as an Estimator or similar position in an engineering / manufacturing environment.
* Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (Machining, Fabrication, assembly).
* Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
* Excellent numeracy and IT ability with an analytical mindset.
* Proficient in relevant software ((Excel, MS Project, ERP).
* Excellent communication (Written and verbal) abilities.
* Diligent with a thorough attention to detail.
* Excellent organizational skills
This is a permanent position based at our site in Burnley
Working a 39-hour week
7.45am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7.45 to 1pm on Friday
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
