Estimating Engineer
* Salary: Competitive, DOE
* Location: St. Neots - Cambourne area
* Full-time, Permanent, Office-based
* Hours: Mon-Thurs: 8:30am-5:00pm and Fri: 8:30am-4:00pm
* Own transport recommended due to out of town location
Overview:
An established engineering company is seeking an experienced Estimating Engineer to join their Sales Team. This role is essential in supporting the sales process by preparing detailed estimates and quotations for both standard and bespoke processing equipment and systems, including installation and service support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate and detailed estimates using standard templates and Excel spreadsheets.
* Incorporate third-party and group company equipment into quotations as needed.
* Log and manage quotations using Access Database and HubSpot CRM.
* Explore and assess HubSpot as a potential sales platform for generating detailed quotations, including learning the system if necessary
* Follow up on quotes not assigned to a salesperson.
* Develop and streamline the estimating and quotation process, including evaluating new software tools.
* Respond to sales enquiries via phone and email, liaising with internal teams as required.
* Raise internal sales orders from client POs and link them to relevant quotations.
* Collaborate with departments such as Accounts and Projects and provide details of Sales Orders and estimates as required for site resource allocation.
* Provide clients with technical information and lead time updates.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Proven experience in a manufacturing estimating environment, ideally within engineering or machinery.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
* Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM systems.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across all levels of the business and with clients.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate and recommend proposal software solutions.
