Estimator - Aluminium Curtain Walling, Glazing, Windows & Doors

Location: East Midlands (Hybrid - up to 3 days working from home)
Salary: £43,000 - £50,000 (DOE)
Projects: £1m - £5m range

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a specialist subcontractor delivering high-quality aluminium curtain walling, glazing, windows, and door packages across the East Midlands and wider UK.

This role requires strong, proven experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors, with a solid understanding of commercial construction environments, procurement processes, and competitive tendering.

You will be working on a variety of projects ranging from £1m to £5m, using leading façade and window systems including Kawneer, Senior Architectural Systems, and Technal, and producing estimates using LogiKal software

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for curtain walling, glazing, and aluminium window/door packages
Use LogiKal software to produce detailed and technically accurate quotations and system outputs
Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and employer's requirements in detail
Carry out detailed take-offs and material schedules
Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
Build up labour, plant, and material costs for tenders
Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
Work closely with commercial and pre-construction teams on bid submissions
Attend tender review meetings and support handover to delivery teams
Maintain and develop strong relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors

Key Requirements

Proven experience as an Estimator within façades, glazing, or aluminium systems
Strong experience working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractors is essential
Good technical knowledge of Kawneer, Senior Architectural Systems, and Technal products
Proficient in LogiKal software for estimating and system design outputs
Experience pricing curtain walling, glazing, and aluminium systems in the £1m-£5m range
Strong understanding of construction procurement and contract processes
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
High attention to detail and strong numerical capability
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously under tight deadlines
