Commutable to: Folkestone (Typically 4 days in office with 1 site visit per week)

Remuneration: £60,000 - £70,000neg

The role of Estimator – Commercial Construction will involve:

  * Estimator position dealing with range of commercial construction projects including fit-out, strip-out and refurb

  * Interpreting technical drawings, generating & following up quotations

  * Estimating for a range of commercial projects such as; housing associations, shopping centres, within the education sector and on light industrial projects.

  * Negotiating with clients, project managers, quantity surveyors and internal estimating team

  * Producing formal quotations to customers

  * Taking details from drawings to produce BOQs allowing for a timely return of quotations for customer deadlines

  * Keeping good documentation of tenders and quotations on internal database

  * Contacting customers, dealing with queries and providing additional technical information

  * Working on projects ranging in value from £250k to circa £2m+

The ideal applicant will be an Estimator – Commercial Construction with:

  * Must have 5-10 years estimating within the commercial construction industry

  * Must have first principle estimating experience

  * Would be open to someone within strip-out, refurb, fit-out, new build,

  * Good technical knowledge and good understanding of industry processes, materials and costs

  * Ideally would have a quantity surveying degree

  * Stable career, highly organised with good attention to detail

  * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  * IT literate (Microsoft Office)

  * Ability to work in a fast paced environment
