Estimator – Fit Out & Refurbishment
West Edinburgh
£51,000 - £66,000 DOE
+ Car Allowance + Bonus
Our client is an established fit out and refurbishment contractor with a strong track record delivering multi-trade interior projects across the commercial and public sectors.
With a strong pipeline of upcoming work and a number of long-term framework agreements in place, they are now looking to add an experienced Estimator to their team.
As a growing business with key clients, frameworks and subcontractors all who they have great relationships with - they are looking to expand and offer the opportunity for the experienced Estimator to become a shareholder within 5 years. This is a profitable business, with directors who are well established, experienced and already operating profitable businesses and leveraging existing relationships and framework knowledge.
The Role
Working as part of a close-knit team, you will be responsible for pricing a range of commercial fit out and refurbishment projects, typically valued up to around £1 million.
You will be involved throughout the tender process, from reviewing initial drawings and specifications through to preparing detailed estimates and supporting the wider team with winning new work.
You'll work closely with directors and business owners to build and lead the Estimating division.
Key Responsibilities
  * Prepare accurate estimates and tenders for fit out and refurbishment projects
  * Review drawings, specifications and project information
  * Complete detailed material and labour take-offs
  * Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
  * Build strong relationships with the supply chain to secure competitive pricing
  * Assist with value engineering and alternative cost-saving solutions
  * Work closely with senior management and project teams on tender submissions
  * Keep pricing information and project records up to date
About You
  * Previous experience in an Estimator role within construction, fit out or refurbishment
  * Good understanding of commercial interiors and associated trades
  * Strong ability to interpret drawings and project specifications
  * Confident using Excel and estimating software such as Bluebeam, Conquest or similar
  * Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  * Good communication and negotiation skills
  * Able to work independently and contribute effectively within a small team
