Construo Recruitment is working in partnership a fast-growing and Chartered Main Contractor, who are recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join their team. You’ll play a key role in preparing and submitting tenders for new build and refurbishment projects across healthcare, education, commercial, and residential sectors.
The Role:
As an Estimator, you will be a key part of the pre-construction team, responsible for preparing, pricing, and submitting competitive tenders and cost plans. You’ll work closely with Directors and other team members to ensure tenders are accurate, strategic, and aligned with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of new build and refurbishment projects
* Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications
* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes
* Analyse risks and opportunities in the tender process
* Collaborate with internal departments and contribute to bid strategy meetings
* Ensure all tender deadlines are met with a focus on quality and competitiveness
* Maintain strong industry knowledge and stay updated on cost trends and regulations
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience as an Estimator with a main contractor (Tier 1 or Tier 2 preferred)
* Strong track record of producing and submitting tenders from £500k to £10m+
* Excellent analytical and commercial skills
* Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* A collaborative, detail-focused, and proactive approach
