Client
My client are a midlands based main contractor. They are looking to recruit an Estimator to join the team in their Coventry office. The Estimator will manage groundworks, refurbishment, fit out and new build tenders and will be reporting in to the Pre Construction Director,
You will be working on a variety of projects from small works to new builds, ranging from values of £5,000 to £100,000 for the civils and groundworks projects.
And projects valuing from £1M - 5M on the new build and fit out tenders.
Main duties and responsibilities:
> Ensuring safe delivery of the tender on date of submission.
> Receiving, acknowledging and checking tender documentation, raising queries as necessary.
> Evaluating the tender information, preparing the action plan and contributing to Bid Strategy.
> Evaluating and comparing quotations, compiling the prices for tender.
> Preparing full priced build-ups to assist in supplier / subcontractor selection, ensuring competitiveness.
> Ensuring working relationships with clients and consultant teams and customers are managed professionally.
> Presenting the estimate at the Finalisation Meeting with a fully priced nett cost build up with a full knowledge and understanding of the project in the form of a fully completed Tender Quality Plan.
> As appropriate, ensure that all aspects of the tender documentation are fully understood by the bid team, advising on cost, buildability and programme.
Essential:
> Strong Estimating experience with a main contractor.
> Established background in civil and ground engineering.
> Being able to work under own direction, with minimal supervision within a Bid Team environment whilst maintaining Group Estimating procedures and philosophy.
> Having a good working knowledge of the local market, and comply with and promote the Core Supply Chain philosophy in the preparation of the tender enquiry list with the Bid Team.
> Having a challenging mindset with particular regards to new technologies, alternatives or Value Engineering in order to obtain competitive advantage.
> Experience of Commercial Computerised Estimating Software systems
> Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerpointBefore You Apply
