Estimator required in London
GVR Solutions are currently representing a reputable and very well-established leading contractor, based in London, who have entered the market for an Estimator to join their pre-construction team.
As a contractor they mainly work within the refurbishment and cut and carve sector of London.
Responsibilities of the Estimator:
* Working and supporting the existing Estimator to finalize the construction methodology, temporary works requirements, preliminaries, staff costs and ensuring this is integrated into the overall estimate
* Collation & review of tender documents to gain a solid project understanding
* Working amongst the existing team to obtain job specific market rates for materials.
* Liaison with subcontractors to obtain site specific quotations
* Establishing new and building existing relationships with clients / contractors / suppliers
* Coordinate site visits with team members to understand project logistics / constraints
* Attending meetings with clients to discuss projects / tenders & negotiate contract sums
* Validating unit rates and construction methodology with key sub-contractors and ensure this is built into budget.
* Offering VE options with tender
* Presentation of tenders for adjudication with senior management team
The Estimator must have/be:
* Minimum 4 years previous Estimating experience working as an Estimator for an established UK contractor
* A team player
* Previous experience as an Estimator
* Experience working on either fit out or refurbishment contracts
