Job Description
Position – Estimator
Industry – Building Services/Construction/HVAC
Salary/Package – £55,000 - £65,000, Company Vehicle or Allowance, Mobile/Technology provided, 24 days holiday + Banks, Death in Service, & More.
Purpose of the Role
An Estimator, working closely with the Bid Management division & Contract Managers developing accurate cost models, tender responses, and commercial insight to support Projects, refurbishments, and construction work primarily within the healthcare facilities sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates for tendered projects, contract minor/major, and capital works.
Review tender documents, technical specifications, and scope of work to understand client requirements and identify key cost drivers.
Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to obtain competitive quotations.
Develop cost breakdowns, pricing schedules, and risk assessments using appropriate tools and software.
Assist the business development and BID team in responding to RFPs, RFQs, and ITTs with compliant and commercially sound pricing.
Conduct site visits, surveys, and evaluations to support accurate estimating when required.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and offer alternative solutions that meet performance and compliance requirements.
Liaise with clients, contractors, project managers, and engineers.
Support the handover of successful bids to the operations team and assist with any cost variations or change orders during project delivery.
You must have or hold
3 years of experience with cost estimating within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of hard FM services, building systems, and maintenance practices.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
Experience working with financial budgets and have excellent analytical skills.
Full UK Driving Licence
Pass an enhanced DBS Check
