ROLE: Estimator – Civil Engineering & Groundworks
LOCATION: Mid-Kent
SALARY: £80,000 - £90,000 DOE

Our client is a long-standing and reputable civil engineering and groundworks contractor are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their growing organisation. This company have a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects across the residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors. THE JOB
We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded Estimator to join the pre-construction team. This is an excellent opportunity to be a key part of a business that values accuracy, communication, and teamwork. The successful candidate will play a vital role in pricing new tenders, preparing take-offs, and working closely with directors and clients throughout the bid process.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering and groundworks packages
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and project requirements
* Perform take-offs and quantity measurements using digital estimating software
* Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Work closely with project managers and directors to assess project viability and risks
* Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings as required
* Help manage the handover process to the delivery team upon project award
* Maintain strong communication with clients, suppliers, and colleagues throughout the tender process
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
* Previous experience in an estimating role within civil engineering or groundworks
* Strong understanding of construction drawings, specs, and tender documentation
* Proficient with Microsoft Office and estimating software (e.g., Conquest, Causeway, or similar)
* Excellent numerical and analytical skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team
* Good communication skills with a proactive approach
