Location: Mayfair, Greater London
Salary: £70,000–£80,000 per annum + benefits
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a long-established and highly regarded main contractor specialising in high-end refurbishment and heritage construction. Based in Mayfair, Greater London, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to some of the most prestigious and architecturally significant projects in the city, typically valued between £1m and £15m.
You’ll work closely with senior commercial and project teams to lead the pre-construction and tendering process, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing across a diverse portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for competitive tenders.
* Analyse architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
* Source and liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations.
* Prepare bills of quantities and detailed tender breakdowns.
* Attend pre-tender meetings and contribute to bid strategy.
* Collaborate with design, commercial, and delivery teams throughout the tender process.
Experience & Qualifications
* At least 5 years’ experience as an Estimator in the UK construction industry.
* Proven track record working on high-end refurbishment or heritage projects.
* Experience with main contractors is strongly preferred.
* Strong commercial awareness with a keen eye for detail.
* Competent in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
