Job Description
Venatu Recruitment Group are supporting our client, a leading provider of civil and construction works with a robust portfolio of projects with a primary focus on servicing power sector, who are seeking an experienced Civils / Construction Estimator to join their dynamic team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to our successful pre construction team.
• Salary £40,000 - (phone number removed) dependant on experience.
• Car allowance with business mileage scheme.

• 26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays per year.

• 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities:
• Preparing bills of quantities by taking off measurements and extracting details from specification documents.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates from first principal pricing methods including financial analysis.
• Prepare accurate and detailed tender programme's to support our tender bids.
• Undertake tender adjudication meetings with the Commercial Director prior to submission of bids.
• Prepare quotation letters accurately detailing our tender offer.
• Managing and evaluating supply chain enquiries to obtain accurate and competitive quotations.
• Building and maintaining successful professional relationships with our clients, consultants and designers.
• Chairing internal pre-construction handover meetings.
• Assist with business development opportunities.
• Provide project account and variation support to the Project Delivery team.
• Attendance at team, commercial, client/contractor on-site meetings.
• Attendance at tender site visit meetings.
Requirements:
• Minimum of HNC in Construction.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience within construction.
• Experience and a proven track record within an estimating role within the construction industry with a desirable focus on civil projects.
• Knowledge and understanding of first principles pricing techniques.
• Proficient in pricing and understanding SMM7 method of measurement.
• Proficient in the use of estimation software (ConQuest or similar).
• A keen eye for detail.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office including Project.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specification documents.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adopt a flexible and creative approach to problem solving, adapting to change in circumstances or information.
