Job Description
Summary for Estimator
We are working with a leading supplier and installer of premium aluminium glazing solutions, including high-performance windows, doors, and bespoke roof light systems. With projects typically ranging from £30,000 to £500,000, our client works across a variety of residential and commercial developments, offering exceptional products and service.
This is a Monday to Friday position working 8am to 4pm.
Key Responsibilities for Estimator:
* Prepare accurate, competitive, and detailed cost estimates for aluminium glazing projects
* Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documents
* Liaise with architects, main contractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information
* Identify material, labour, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, and related documents
* Prepare and submit quotations and tender returns in a timely manner
* Maintain an up-to-date pricing database and supplier cost records
* Track and analyse cost variations and support value engineering exercises
* Support the sales and project management teams with technical and pricing information
Required Experience and Skills for Estimator:
* Minimum 3 years of estimating experience within the aluminium windows and doors industry
* Strong knowledge of glazing systems, including aluminium profiles, glass specifications, and associated hardware
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with industry-specific estimating software such as Window Designer, Origin OSS
* Strong numeracy, accuracy, and attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
