Job Description
Job Title: Estimator – Civil Engineering
Location: Glasgow
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator to join our client, a well-established contractor specialising in civil engineering, geotechnics, and piling, with a strong focus on the renewable energy sector.
This is a permanent position based in Glasgow, with some travel to project sites across Scotland as required. The successful candidate will ideally have experience with a civil engineering contractor, preferably with exposure to the renewables sector. You will be skilled in pricing from first principles and will work closely with a wider team of estimators across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Tender Identification & Management
Identify suitable tenders for pricing.
Review and analyse tender documents.
Prepare accurate and detailed quotations and tender submissions.
Estimating & Documentation
Gather all necessary information to prepare Bills of Quantities.
Record, track, and monitor tender submissions and successful bids.
Post-Award Handover
Ensure smooth handover of contracts to delivery teams, providing all necessary information.
Support the Estimating Team with administrative and filing tasks.
Requirements
Experience
Minimum of three years’ experience in the construction industry, ideally in Estimating, Procurement, Civil Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
Previous experience in civil engineering and renewables projects is highly desirable.
Skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
Other
Full UK driving licence.
Proactive and reliable, with a positive “can-do” attitude.
Keen interest in continuous learning and professional development.
