Fortus Recruitment are currently representing a main contractor who are looking for a Estimator to join their demoliton & building division.
Job Title: Estimator – Demolition / Structural / Building
Location: Mitcham, London
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 (depending on experience)
About Us
We are a well-established construction contractor based in Mitcham, specialising in demolition, structural alterations, and complex building works. With a reputation for delivering projects safely, on time, and to the highest standards, we are now seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team.
The Role
As Estimator, you will play a key role in pricing projects, preparing tenders, and supporting the commercial success of the business. You will be responsible for ensuring all estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for demolition, structural, and building projects.
Analyse drawings, specifications, and project information to assess scope and requirements.
Prepare bills of quantities and tender documentation.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain quotations and clarify project details.
Support the project team with cost planning, budgets, and value engineering.
Work closely with directors and site teams to ensure financial viability of projects.
Requirements
Proven experience as an Estimator within the demolition, structural, or building sector.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and current industry rates.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong IT skills, including estimating software and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
