I am recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established industry leader for an Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates. The role requires a strong understanding of installation methods and relevant industry standards, along with the ability to confidently interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications related to parapet systems.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for parapet supply and installation, including materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor elements.
Work closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure technical compliance and value engineering.
Identify risks, exclusions, and opportunities within tenders and communicate them clearly.
Support bid submissions with pricing breakdowns, clarifications, and supporting documentation.
Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams to ensure smooth handover of successful bids
Person specifications:
Experience in estimating within the highways or civil engineering sector, ideally with a focus on parapet systems
or similar safety infrastructure.
Strong understanding of parapet types, installation methods, and relevant standards (e.g., EN 1317, BS 7818).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency with ERP systems
Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesBefore You Apply
