Job Description
We are working with a well-established business in the Croydon area who are looking to appoint an Estimator to join their commercial team. This is a key role, supporting the preparation of accurate costings for projects and ensuring customer quotes are delivered efficiently and competitively.
The Role
Prepare time, cost, material, and labour estimates for manufacturing projects
Produce customer quotes and proposals in line with business standards
Work closely with production, engineering, and sales teams to gather project details
Compare supplier quotes and identify cost-saving opportunities
Maintain and update customer records, orders, and quotations using ERP systems
Monitor changes in project scope and adjust costings where required
Provide support across the commercial function, including invoicing and general admin tasks
The Person
Previous experience in estimating within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining, fabrication, assembly)
Confident using Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
Good communication skills and ability to work with both internal teams and customers
Able to manage workload and meet deadlines effectively
The Package
Salary up to £33,000 DOE
37.5 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 8.00am-4.45pm, Fri 8.00am-12.30pm)
