Job Description

Estimator – Civil Engineering Location: North West (with travel to sites across the UK) Salary: Competitive + car allowance + bonus + benefits About the Opportunity This is a great opportunity to join a respected civil engineering and regeneration contractor that is growing steadily across the UK. Role Overview As an Estimator, you will help shape future projects and play a key part in securing new work across remediation, earthworks, and infrastructure. You will not be confined to a desk. This role involves collaborating with engineers, delivery teams, and clients to develop realistic and competitive tenders that reflect how projects are delivered on site. It suits someone who enjoys variety, technical challenge, and the satisfaction of seeing tenders progress into live projects. You will be part of a close-knit, supportive team that values initiative and teamwork. The environment combines the professionalism of a large contractor with the flexibility and personal approach of a specialist business. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissionsfor civil, utilities, and infrastructure works Review drawings, specifications, and ground investigation data to assessscope and risk Work with design, delivery, and operational teams to refine methodology andpricing Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations Maintain cost databases and benchmarking information Identify commercial and technical risks and recommend mitigation measures Support bid reviews, negotiations, and pre-contract handovers What We’re Looking For Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management Experience in estimating within civil engineering, utilities, remediation, or earthworks Strong commercial awareness and understanding of cost and risk management Confident user of estimating software and Excel Excellent communication and teamwork skills Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required Package & Benefits Competitive salary depending on experience Car allowance or company vehicle Annual performance bonus 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension contributions and private healthcare Ongoing training and development with clear career progression Exposure to major infrastructure and regeneration projects To Apply Send your CV or contact Daniel Lewis
