Job Description
Key Responsibilities: End-to-End Estimating: Interpret sketches, notes, and partial designs to create cost estimates and competitive tenders for projects ranging up to £4m. Quantity Take-oƯs & Pricing: Prepare material and labour breakdowns, bills of quantities, and pricing schedules for a variety of trades involved in interiors, fit-outs, and refurbishments. Tender Management: Manage the entire estimating process, from initial inquiry through to tender submission, ensuring all deadlines are met without sacrificing quality. Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement: Identify, negotiate, and evaluate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring that we obtain the best possible value while maintaining our quality standards. Client Interaction: Communicate with clients professionally and promptly to clarify requirements, handle queries, and build lasting relationships. Lead Generation: Monitor tender portals/websites and proactively seek opportunities that align with our expertise. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with our project teams and senior management to refine our approach, share insights, and ensure that our estimating function supports both operational eƯiciency and strategic growth. Requirements: Proven experience in estimating within the fit-out, refurbishment, or interiors sector. Ability to interpret sketches, notes, and partial designs, and develop costings without needing full specification detail. Strong IT and Excel skills, with the ability to present pricing and breakdowns clearly. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills—comfortable operating in a small, fastpaced environment.
