JOB- Electric Vehicle Mechanic (Contract – Outside IR35)
LOCATION-Tilbury (Essex)
TERM- (Contract – Outside IR35)
SALARY- £18-£24 per hour dependent on experience
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and certified Electric Vehicle (EV) Mechanic for a contract position (Outside IR35). This role is ideal for a professional with Level 2 or Level 3 EV certification and hands-on experience servicing electric and hybrid vehicles. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining high-voltage EV systems in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on electric and hybrid vehicles
Work on key EV systems including batteries, drivetrains, charging infrastructure, and electrical components
Adhere strictly to high-voltage safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines
Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify faults and perform repairs
Maintain service records and ensure quality control on all work completed
Keep up-to-date with the latest EV technology and repair techniques
Requirements:
IMI Level 2 or Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) – Essential
Solid experience as a mechanic, ideally with EV or hybrid vehicle expertise
Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems and EV diagnostics
EV-specific certifications or manufacturer training are advantageous
Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting skills
Valid UK driver’s license
